Why Meetings are Such a Waste of Time

Days and months of hours aggregated, amounting to some thousands of dollars are wasted on some of these stupid things people love to do at work. These things are called meetings. I hate the word ‘meetings’and that makes me squirm with pain because all that time lost could never be gotten back.

Meetings are a drain on the company’s resources — the conference rooms being air-conditioned, the time lost on the meetings which could have been used up productively, the fact that nothing important ever comes off these meetings and much more.

Think about this: Instead of every hour being spent on meeting, if you could spend that time on extremely productive and result-oriented endeavors like marketing, sales or even training for your staff, you could put your finger on all that time invested and look for some kind of return on investment.

Meetings are only for ego-massaging the corporate honchos. Those suits, tuxedo, shoes and tie need an audience, don’t they? These men in suits need some place to vent their frustration, anger, superiority, authority or their desperate need to be heard and listened to.
