It isn’t encouraged in school; it isn’t encouraged during college, at work, in the industry, in the market. But groupism, if done the right way can actually be very beneficial for you and your business. When I say group I mean something more like a unified body that controls, regulates and works for the betterment of its members. There are several advantages to being a part of body of this sort. Some of them are as follows:

1)      Rights are protected: A body of this sort unifies all the common businesses in that area. There is always more strength in numbers. A unified body like this will automatically be in a better position to protect your general rights as compared to you fighting for them alone.

2)      Regulation: These bodies ensure that all its members follow a certain code of conduct and maintain a certain level of quality in their work. This ensures that you do not suffer because of somebody else’s malpractices which can happen very frequently in business.

3)      Communication: When you are part of such an organization, it is easier to spread an instruction or a piece of news effectively to everyone which otherwise would have been difficult.Similarly, you will always be informed and aware.

4)      Networking: This is an excellent way to network and grow your business. You will also learn a lot by just observing the different work ethics, modes of people who may have the same type of a similar type of business as your own.

Once your rights are protected it becomes much easier to work and establish your business. If you do not have a body existing for your kind of business, then simply start your own. Right from bodies like the FDA you also have small localized ones like a taxi drivers association or textile merchants association. You can start your own body if you have enough members and work towards first achieving recognition as a body and then towards the betterment of business conditions of your members.
