It is interesting to see how humans get motivated. Motivation seems to be coming from some of the obvious sources — like the lure of money, fame, success, happiness, reputation, self-respect, or all of these. However, there are some unlikely sources of motivation too. Some of them you already know and some of which you might want to laugh at.

I remember a husband who once took to cooking  vigourously and passionately just because their cook walked off after an altercation over cooking gas. After his wife threw some tantrums regarding the arduous chore cooking is, the husband just couldn’t take it anymore and started to cook with a passion not found even in the best of the cooks.

There are untold stories of entrepreneurs who were forced into business but still did well. Surprisingly, their source of motivation was poverty, hunger and a constant let-down by the society.

I personally walked into the HSBC Premier Lounge the other day to retrieve a lost debit card and I was suddenly flushed to know that being rich has its rewards — you are treated like a king, escorted, well-treated and the like. I got motivated; even if it means just filling up thata account with some healthy cash.( Ok, You maay stop laughing at me now!)

You never know what plugs into your system callin itself your primary motivation.; but I do know that this stuff is powerful. Let it come to you and see how it propels you. What your source of motivation?
