questions The Brilliance Of Asking QuestionsI had a wonderful day two days ago when my mentor showed me the brilliance of managing employees by asking questions and nothing else. If you are wondering how that is possible, read on.

Most managers lead themselves into the temptation of “telling”, “Preaching”and “speaking up”. If you say things or tell things people have to agree with you or disagree with you. However, if you make them say things, they will only have one option and that would be to agree, because you said so.

You make them say things you want to hear; push them gently into saying things you think would propel them to do better and to make themmore productive. The beauty of asking questions is that you bring your recipients into an “”acceptance mode” right from the word go.

Also, since they are the ones saying everything, they would always agree with their own statements. They would make promises on their own and strive to meet their commitment levels instead of biting whatever task is thrown their way and then working hard to meet someone else’s expectations.

This approach is stress free and reduces your daily anxiety that comes through working in high-pressure environments. It tends to make you feel a lot more relaxed and puts the team on auto-mode.

Try Management By Asking Questions and see what miracles it can do to your team. Have you ever tried it? What do you think about it?
