Success In sales Is Meeting People Belly-to-Belly.Period.
If you had started like most entrepreneurs, I can bet there is just one problem with respect to operating your business. The ability to go and get more clients. Sure, you got some because you knew someone who wanted you to do something for someone else, but then, how comfortable are you when it comes to hard core acquisition? Entrepreneurs with background in sales and marketing please excuse me, but everyone else has to contend with this problem – Sales.
Without sales, your business would stand on a pretty zilch. nada. libre! Nothing would work then, you could get into a spiralling debt cycle and eventually get out of business. Sales, a tough thing to do, much more tougher to do without. There is, however, a simple way to go about it. I mean, if you were really into it, then you have a whole art to master, but if you don’t have the patience and the inclination, it’s just one thing you ought to remember – Meet people belly-to-belly. Period.
That’s it. This would get you out of your acquisition trouble. Just plan to meet 10 new prospective customers per day. Everyday. Relentlessly, no matter what happened. No matter how many rejections you might have had to take and no matter how painful it might turn out to be. Just do this what magic it would do your business. Sure, you are the boss, the CEO and the king pin. But if your business has to plummet, you would go down with it. Won’t you?
See how you can do this favour for yourself, mate.

Abdul,
It’s a nice write. But here are my points. Well I would meet my customers belly-to-belly (though dun have one, guess will need to grow after reading your article), but my experience has been a little other way around.
The most difficult thing for me so far, has been to convince a client to meet at the first point. Clients are not really as “Open” as we expect them to be with meeting up with new prospects. Pinging them every now and then would do worse.
Referrals have really helped me build my business. Good customer service has helped me build my business too. Honesty has helped me walk a great distance when it comes to building my business. And most important of all, I’m dedicated towards my work and this by far has been the one of the most powerful weapon to build my business.
If anyone gets a good mixture of all the above, then their business will thrive beyond expectation.
I don’t say the “mud-slinging” job is not necessary. It’s very important to start a business. When you have no customers you should be ready to face a lot of doors to shut on you. But once you get your few customers, treat them as God and they definitely will turn out to be one
