focus Singletasking: Is it even better than Multi tasking? They say that women are very good at multi-tasking and I must admit that it is right. However, is multi-tasking effective? Does it help you work more and achieve more in as less time as possible?

Tony Somerville, at Sitepoint Blogs, doesn’t seem to think so. In fact, he appears to be against multitasking. I agree with him.

You see, when you multitask, you don’t focus. When you don’t focus, you aren’t being effective. As Tony pointed out in his post titled “Why Multitasking is a waste of time”, he says that the propensity or a habit of working on too many thinks at once would tend to allow you to work on seemingly non-essential things while working.

Singletasking, on the other hand, seems to be the right strategy to espouse and I must totally agree with Darrell Etherington at Webworkerdaily who wrote a great post called “SingleTasking Tip: Work like You are On a Vacation“. You should read this post to get an idea as to how to work single-mindedly on your projects and not burn yourself out.

Single tasking brings about high levels of focus and concentration that should allow you to work like never before and bring your productivity to higher levels.

Do you think Single Tasking works? Let me know.
