Selective Tendering: The Business of Choice

Selective Tendering: The Business of Choice

no Selective Tendering: The Business of ChoiceMore often than not, service providers forget the fact that they are running a business. As an invidual service provider, you have the choice of picking up your clients. You have the right of denial and you are not legally bound or obliged in any way to cater to every client or customer.

Selective Tendering is the practice by which service providers, vendors and small business decide about what projects, clients or work they could pick up and start working on. When a business thinks it can’t handle a client or if it things that the service asked for is not something that business does, it cold flatly refuse to work on the same.

Selective tendering is a must for small business to keep quality in check. This practice helps small business owners and Individual service providers to pick only those projects or clients that they are comfortable with, they could only work on projects that are profitable or work with clients with whom they are very comfortable with.

As a small business, owner,  you don’t have to do business with everyone. Not so profitable clients, difficult customers, projects that don’t fall under your area of expertise can all be avoided.

Nothing would be as embarrassing as picking up work  you can’t do and no one can bring back the time you spend on a time-consuming client. To excertise quality and ensure flawless delivery, selective tendering is a must. Are you doing it? Do you fire clients? Do you say no when you have to?
