It’s Good That Teens Don’t Use Twitter

There was this interesting post about teens not using Twitter as much as adults do. Although Ben Parr has a well-researched take on the whole issue, I am actually happy that teenagers don’t Twitter as much they use facebook or myspace. Here’s why I think I think it’s a good idea:
- Teenagers talk crap: One of the reasons why I hate myspace and even facebook( if it weren’t for my own friends out there) is the fact that teenagers have nothing valuable to contribute. They usually talk non-sense and there is nothing an average follower on twitter gets to derive from the tweets of an average teenager,
- They don’t have interest in trends on twitter: Teenagers are barely Interested in news, trends ( unless it’s about music or movies) and they wouldn’t bother spending time on twitter to be valuable enough to their followers and most importantly, they are an impatient lot.
- They will contribute to more spam: Teens are more likely to be swept by easy ways to make money that has a possibility of them contributing to even more spam. I am not saying that teens will be the only contributors to spam, but they are likely to add to the spamming streams.
- You will get sick and tired of more profanity: Teens use more profanity than anyone else. Again, it’s unfair to make such accusing statements on an entire demographic in this manner, but looking at the way I was during my teen years, I am sure profanity is bound to come in – total turn-off.
What do you think about teenagers not using twitter as much? Do you agree or disagree? Do let me know.
