How To Use Google Docs For Productivity and Collaboration

google docs 300x158 How To Use Google Docs For Productivity and CollaborationI trust that you are in the quest for making it big and become successful. However, it isn’t possible if you don’t use certain tools to get you there. Google Documents is turning out to be a nifty way to do things on the computer. It is way aheead of openoffice.org or Microsoft  Office suites.

One of the best things I like about Google Docs is that you could use it as a collboration tool. A client of mine shared how he wastes time with his telecalling team due to all the document sharing they do everyday between themselves — think about daily sales reports, analysis, issue trackers, etc. I suggested he use Google Docs without wasting a moment since it is free and very powerful.

Essentially, it obviates the need to send these reports or anything else that you keep sharing with your offline or remote teams. It enables each user to have access to the same document from anywhere in the world and the documents update themselves as users enter data — this takes away the need to email back and forth.

You could allow for a stricter document sharing protocol, password protect your documents, grant or remove priviledges to document access and much more. It is mind-boggling as to how much time is saved just by making a tiny shift to your ways of working by picking a free tool on the Internet.

Have you started using Google Documents Yet? What is your take on it? Do share it here as a comment.
