Putting up your profiles across social media and networking sites is one thing; actually using it is another. With so many platforms you will have to be active on at all times, it is a full-time activity to actually make social media work for you. Here are ways it could be done:
- Make time to socialize: Pick up a stretch of time each day to do just this activity and nothing else. Focus is the good word here and you will do well to stick to the networks or social communities that actually work for you — you wouldn’t know which one works until you spend time. An experimentation time of about 3-6 months should be a good starting ground for you to see if your results come through.
- Hire a VA: We spoke about hiring a VA for most of the important but boring, repetitive and mundane tasks earlier. I don’t see why you should not use your VA for activities such as these. Armed with your log in information, you VA can effectively participate in social forums as YOU and save you considerable amount of effort and most importantly, time.
- Hire full-time help: If you attribute a lot of success with social media and if you see that it really works for you, there is tremendous amount of sense in trying to hire a full-time social media manager. It does take dedication, expertise and concentrated effort ( as is expected of a full-time employee) to do this job and this step is best taken when you have funds at disposal.
Could you think of any more ways to manage your social media participation?
