I have said this before and i’ll say it again,human resources are the most valuable resource any business has.It is also the hardest to maintain.Each employee is valuable to you and with time their added experience makes them even more valuable.You need to have a strategy in place that ensures that you manage to retain your employees.Here’s how to achieve that :
1) Performance : Do not overlook even the smallest achievement by any employee.Depending upon the magnitude of the target you may offer a word of praise or a raise or new benefits.Your employees should know that their efforts and talents will never go unnoticed.This helps is creating a feeling of pride and belonging in the business.
2) Communication : Everyone has opinions and ideas.Establish a line of communication such that every single employee has a voice and can express himself/herself always and know that their point will be considered.This will go a long way in making them feel important to the business.
3) Loyalty : This is an automatic of result of the above two.Happy employees respond with loyalty and commitment to your business.The more you respect them and value them,the more inspired they will be to work better and harder and stick with you.
4) The market advantage : Everybody wants to be ahead of the race;or at least stick with the winner.You need to be good at what you do ( as a business ) and have some sort of a competitive edge over others in the market.Your employees should feel proud to be associated with you.They would also work at helping you maintain that edge.It’s a win-win situation all around.
