No matter what others think, say or believe, there are some things I swear by. One of the things is that nothing feels as good as self-sufficiency. You just can’t beat the contentment and the smug satisfaction on your face when you know you can do certain things or just know certain things. Yeah, I know Outsourcing is big and makes good sense. That’s not what I am talking about. A good leader must come from the trenches; he must be able to lead with example. How could lead a team of web-designers and graphic designers for example, if you had no clue about what they were doing? Without much ado then, there are skills you must pick immediately, NOW:
- Writing Skills: Nothing shakes me as much as the written word can. The Internet runs on it and you read plenty of it inevitably. Developing great content for the web (or even off line) is a powerful skill to possess. Can you imagine how easy it could be to run your web based businesses if you knew how to write well? Can you imagine the kind of money you could earn if you write 10 articles in 2 hours? Stupendous. There are plenty of sites for you to learn writing skills, so what’s your excuse?
- Programming Skills: Not everyone’s cup of tea, but isn’t something God does. People do it. If someone can do it, so can you. PHP, My SQL, database programming, server side scripting, client side scripting, HTML, XHTML, CSS and much more – know this and you are right there with another winning skill that could earn money right off the bat just for your services. You don’t need any other business if you just knew this.
- Basic Graphic Design Skills: If a picture says a thousand words, graphics make those words dance. Render like to pictures; say it with your own custom-made images. Life’s good like that. Learning Adobe Photoshop or any other software that can help you make simple banners, images and modify some of the existing ones is an amazing skill to have. Yet another one of those highly paying skills that could let you open shop immediately.
Skills = Money. There is no denying that. So if you need money, it won’t come crawling to you. You got to earn it — the above three skills put on the path to your bank straight away. So, what are you learning today?
