Although, it is a know fact that your joints can get affected if you will keep them under constant stress, but, there are lots of people who don’t consider it and end up making things worse.

Repetitive stress injury happens when a particular joint is used extensively. It can make your muscles and tendons to swell. Swelling of muscles and tendons can really make life miserable for people. Tendons and bursae are those two things which caused problems when you put excessive pressure to a joint. Actually, tendons are flexible bands of tissues which attach muscles to bones. On the other hand, bursae are like membranous bags or sacs which contain a special fluid. This fluid acts as a cushion between tendons and bones. Now, repetitive stress injuries are actually related to the inflammation of both these things. Inflammation of tendons is named as tendonitis, whereas, the inflammation of bursa is named as bursitis.

Now, when you have understood the entire reasoning behind the repetitive stress injuries, it will become easy for you to take control over them. However, you will never be able to handle repetitive stress injuries in the right way if you will not take its early symptoms more seriously. For instance, if you feel pain in a specific joint along with redness or swelling, then you must consult with your doctor without wasting anytime.

Here, it is pertinent to mention that you can witness repetitive stress injuries in any of the joints. For instance, there are some people who feel pain in the joint that connects bicep to the shoulder. Apart from this, inflammation can be experienced on the front of the kneecap, on the outer hip, on the inside of the elbow, etc. So, if you find that a pain is followed by swelling or redness, then it can be a repetitive stress injury.

If your doctor confirms that you have become a victim of repetitive stress injury, then you will have to take some non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to alleviate the pain and inflammation. However, you must always try to perform some exercise as this can help making muscles strong. But, don’t go for any exercise without consulting with your doctor. Finally, relaxing the muscle will help a lot. This can be done by using an icepack.

So, the bottom line is that if you will be severe to your body, it will really make you pay through the nose. So, always try to use your joints in the right way as this will help you to stay away from dreadful pain that is associated with repetitive stress injuries.
