When you don’t know, you are dead. Many small business owners and Internet business enthusiasts go all out to spend money on stuff that can be done for free or sometimes doesn’t even mandate any usage. Not all Internet tools work for all kinds of business.These tools do help, but they don’t beyond a certain point.They don’t give you a visible rate of return on your money and hence they should not figure in your things to do after you do certain necessary things. Here’s where you must be spending money on useless things:
Paying for building websites: Are you kidding me? No one needs to spend money on any website design or development unless you really are looking for a customized designed exclusively for some reason, apart from the fact that you are backed by a huge corporate. For most business needs, you don’t need web-design — at least for beginners and companies that don’t need a website much except for making it their e-brochure. You can put up 20 odd sites in 20 minutes flat. You are ready to go in less than 30 minutes for any given site. Why go for expensive design then?
Paying for SEO: There are a couple of reasons why I don’t think investing in SEO is a great idea unless you are in a really competitive niche. Don’t get me wrong — you see, I am in this business myself and my company seeknext.in does all this extensively for our clients. But I believe that investing in SEO is not for everyone.
Getting videos done: Now, let’s get real. Videos are great instructional tools and they do an amazing job to ease the difficulty in learning some things that are difficult to understand in text format. How to optimize your blogs, coding, HTML, XHTML, CSS and things like that would make for great topics on video. Set-up procedures, installation steps, “How-to” do almost anything would be good too. But it still isn’t for everything. You want to give a discourse on the benefits of “Online business” over offline business? Try something else and not video. Why? I can’t stand to see your face talking for 30 full minutes on a video which is a useless, grainy footage while you half-eat your words and make it even more difficult for me.
