family  Business Relationships: Are You Focusing On it?A business needs to sell its products and services to make money, but interestingly customers don’t like to get sold to. They would want to make new relationships instead. However, most small business owners don’t take this seriously enough; for these entrepreneurs selling is everything – by hook or crook.

Relationships are paramount in business success and good relationships result in overwhelming sales of your products and services. One of the best ways to bring value to the relationship you share with your customer is not to be biased. It is obvious that you would want your customer to purchase your products or services, but sometimes it might not happen. Your products might not be the best fit for a customer at this point of time. If that’s the case, you must become a consultant and help your customers buy the best products or services – even if their belong to your competition. You gain respect and admiration from your customers, if nothing else.

Alternatively, befriend your customers. Nothing works as good as friendship, even in business. Why not try to befriend some of your best customers? It would be near impossible for you to make friends with all your customers, but befriending some of them would be very much possible. Making friends with them is a sure-shot recipe for continuous business and a good name.
