killer Business Killers:Can The Tendency to Be a Perfectionist Kill you? Every product out there can stand some improvement; every service can do with a quicker turnaround, better experience and a faster delivery. However, that doesn’t mean that you obsess over your products and services to the extent that barely nothing ever happens with respect to business coming in.

The lure of “perfection” is a double-edged sword: while it promises enhanced products or services, it can hamper your decision making abilties, slow down operations and pin you to the drawing board and making you to mull over mindless detail just because they said that the devil is in it.

Every moment you spend on trying to enhance your offerings, the clock ticks on. Revenues stop flowing and you are getting boxed into the dangerous ” no cash” situation – the very thing you’ve always wanted to avoid.

Meanwhile, days are lost and compeitors move forward. Things are happening around you and more opportunities are lost. As an entrepreneur you need to pay attention to detail but not obsess over it. You have to call for a balance in between making great products to start with but letting the market decide what’s good and bad about your offering.

Do business the smart way, let customers decide how good or bad the product is. You just learn to keep your eyes and ears peeled to hear any opinion so that you can act on it quickly. Do you, over react, over analyze or over think before executing? Don’t you think it could be killing you?
