Avoid The Biggest Corporate Time-wasters

All of my week has been spent on attending to my clients and customers – pertaining to their hosting needs. It so happened that I happened to witness some of their strategic meetings and that had a very interesting aftermath – at least for me.
I had realized, with a sudden force, that meetings and most of the training sessions are indeed ineffective. I happened to witness almost 3 days wasted – with respect to a client of mine – just in meetings, reviews and training sessions.
One thing that stood out like a big black spot against a milk white background is the fact that too much time is spent on these meetings and training. I am not against meetings and training, but I certainly won’t vouch for that much time being spent on these things.
Training( except technical training) is still purported to be a vague thing and has no returns on Investment — at least not something tangible. Meetings are even more ridiculous — there is no learning in there; there are ego wars and corproate slander.
If training has to be done, the content could be digitized and made into e-learning modules or courses that trainees could have access to whenever time permits. As for meetings, avoid them if you can. If you can’t, use web-conferencing ( Plenty of options to choose from like Cisco’s WebEx, GotoMeeting, a nd more).
When was the last training session or meeting you found that actually made you money reduced your expenses?
