Did you get sucked into the vortex of social media frenzy? Can you help yourself and NOT tweet for a day, keep away from facebook and all of those other social sites? You might not.

The crazy social media scene isn’t showing signs of slowing down. But should you spend inordinate amounts of time on the social scene? Does it give you anything at in the form of increase in your bottom line?
1. Some niches don’t seem to work with Social Media: Some niches are universal – like “make money online niche” while some are highly targeted and specific in nature. You got to realize who the target market is and where they congregate. Business owners and online entrepreneurs tend to spend a lot of time on forums and linked In while women entrepreneurs are found in WAHM forums.
2. Don’t socialize with everyone: If you are selling software or if you are an affiliate for software, business products, etc, myspace wouldn’t work for you. I have doubts about face book too. Each niche must be carefully weighed and careful consideration must be given for its corresponding target market. Just because you have a site to promote doesn’t mean you should be talking to everyone, because you won’t be doing business with every one out there.
3. Don’t waste too much time doing it: Make use of technology to help you save time. You could use onlywire.com to automate your social bookmarking and social media updates, for instance. Twitter updates can be automated too. See how you can leverage more exposure for your content and social marketing using technology.
