However, not everyone at your office will be so motivated. It is disheartening to note that a lot of employees aim to clock in more hours with low productivity, simply because it’s the easy way out. This leads to a scenario where despite allocation of adequate time, projects are not completed on time and deadlines are not met. This naturally will have a damaging influence on your business growth scale. It is crucial to motivate employees to work towards achieving targets rather than simply ‘pass’ the time given. You need to find the right balance between coaxing, pushing and encouraging them as too much of any quality could lead to an unexpected and unpleasant result.
You can encourage your employees by ensuring that you regularly speak with them personally and tell them how much you value their input and how important their contribution is for the success of the project as a whole. This boosts their morale and confidence and inspires them to do even better. When you acknowledge their work, they feel reassured that they do have a significant role in the team. This feeling of importance adds a sense of responsibility to the employees’ work ethics and ensures that the work flow is smooth. Another advantage of this is that employees now will tend to take on problem solving upon themelves. This ensures that any glitches in the system are met with instantly and order is restored sooner than otherwise. Not any does this mean that the employee productivity is higher but you also manage to GAIN on time rather lose it. This spells a double whammy for you in terms of strengthening your assets.
Strengthening your assets leads to strengthening of your foundation. A strong foundation is mandatory for a business that is looking to grow and expand. An expanding business needs to have a solid base structure to be able to rely on. It’s amazing to think that changing your motivation from general encouragement towards a more objectives oriented approach can have such a widespread positive effect upon your business. It is definitely something worth trying. Once you see the positive effects you’ll be convinced at an experiential level of its success.
This is an approach that can work generally in any business scenario. However there are some characteristics that are specific to each business.You, as the entrepreneur need to figure out what works for you in situation and apply that. A guided or directed version of the above mentioned method will have a much better result than a generalised approach.
