Most entreprenuers do everything else in their businesses except doing activities that generate direct revenue. For instance, a retail shop owner does everything in a day pertaning to operations, hiring and firing people, making deals with wholesalers to source products for a better price, modifying shop layouts, etc.
All of that and much more.
However, one thing they just don’t do is to go out and make a sale or do stuff that leads to a sale. They avoid it like plague. It is understandable that a technician who is good at computers and technology would find it difficult to get out on tothe streets and sell his own products and services.
That’s why the ability for an entrepreneur to go out the comfort zone is that important. It is important that he/develop skills required to go out and make that sale. It is important to follow the process, meet as many people as possible, bring in sales and repeat that process again and again until you are cash-rich.
Beyond this point, after successfully automating or semi-automating your sales process you can then think of other things like hiring people like your or better than you to do things for you; you could look to move into an office and run operations from there; make better and bigger deals, etc.
Marketing and sales come first; everything comes after that. What surprises me is that roughly 85% of the start-ups companies focus on all things mundane, redundant and unnecessary. These start-ups have other priorities each day except to make money, build their brand and keep customers happy.
Business is easy and all it requires is common-sense, focus and commitment; not great ideas, posh offices and millions of dollars in funding.
