Are you depending on SEO too much? Search engine marketing has been the hot bed of online advertising and has never failed to delight SEO enthusiasts. Not to mention the raging torrents of traffic that could be thrown your way if you do it all right.
seo 3 Reasons Why SEO dependence Could Kill You
However, depending too much on it could kill you and here are reasons why I think so:

  • 1. SEO is never constant:
    • The algorithms are a trade secret and there is no way on earth that any one individual could master these algorithms and find a way to complete search engine domination. Also, the algorithms keep changing often. It’s hard enough to try to keep up with the basics and if you throw in the dynamic nature of Search engines, Search engines are a vast, dynamic, ever-changing whirlpool. It’s not wise to dive into it without a plan or two in place.
  • 2. There are things to consider other than SEO:
    • Why just SEO when there are dime and dozen ways to drive traffic to your website or a blog? There is PPC and then there is social media marketing. How about forum marketing and blog commenting? Did you try to unleash the power of article marketing? Have you tried back-linking, trackbacks, joint ventures, ezine ads, direct marketing and even offline marketing? SEO isn’t the only thing out there, then why depend on it completely?
  • 3. Here today, gone tomorrow:
    • One thing is for sure: even if you list on the first few, all-important pages of Google or any other search engine for that matter, there is no guarantee that it will be there for ever. Your blog or website can be pushed down into the endless abyss of Search Engine Results Pages( SERPs) no matter what you do or no matter how well optimized your web pages are.

    Conclusion

Depending completely on SEO is foolish and a half. When there are other ways of marketing and promoting your online business, dependence on one way of promotion could be fatal. If you chose to do a little of everything at first and stick to what really works for you, a long-term strategy is well in place that could be pivotal for your online success.
