The power of Networking

Networking isn’t something that comes in the ” running your business blueprint”. It is natural, instinctive and people-driven. It happens in due course of time and it is a meaningful thing to do only when you do it without an end in mind ( as against running the business as a whole where you should know where you are going!).

You can’t hurry with networking, you can’t keep a dollar sign on it too. You can’t sell it nor can you buy it. You can only experience it and this experience has a funny way of paying off sometime in the future.

Nothing can beat offline networking — ofcourse you could chip in with the online tools and networking websites like linkedin, ryze and more to help gather leads and begin the process of networking, but it can’t beat the charm of a belly-to-belly meet. Meeting in person solidifies the relationship.

Just for numbers, for the first 3 months of starting my business, the entire portfolio of my customers were from my existing network, of people who had known me earlier, done business with earlier, worked with or even friends and friends of these friends.

That’s the way it happens. It is much like sales and it must be kept in mind that one has to meet at least 3 new people per day and what you do with them is all up to you.
