Time? Being Wasted? That’s what I am talking about. You see, I can bet that you’d have at least about 4 hours wasted per day somewhere or the other where you would be doing something nonconstructive and worthless. How you might ask? Here are a few activities I think are absolutely worthless…
- Driving around in the city.
- Reading newspapers - Yes, it is indeed a waste of time. Not the whole of the paper of course, maybe you could glean some gold out of it sometimes but then, more often than not, it is junk. What would you do with a 3 page article or cover story on “Sensational Sensex” or ” The Super Merger” ?
- Drinking, smoking and cooler room discussions - The drinking and smoking part is simply outrageous. I mean, you screw your body up and then waste money and time too. How much more can you abuse yourself? What does anyone get out of it?
- Travelling - Yeah, you do listen to music perhaps? That’s it? A good few hours just gone like that ! I am not saying you shouldn’t unwind. I am only saying that you should have done something worthwhile that calls for some kind of relaxation.
Time is indeed money and we invariably lose it all out. I happen to realize it now and I am working on trying to make good of all that time wasted here and there that usually goes unaccounted for. Every moment wasted elsewhere could have been put to good, constructive use somewhere. You could read a book, listen to some tapes, watch something educational. If you actually counted all the time wasted away, you could probably arrive at a figure close to a few years across your life. A few years? Wasted drinking tea?Coffee?Smoking?Propping up bars? Chatting nonsense with friends?
Time being precious as it is, probably needs a new application strategy, dontchathink?
