Now-a-days it is not much about jumping your corporate job and buying space to start off something on your own putting your heart where your mouth is, like it was for the older generation. It is more a casual approach now, with people turning into entrepreneurs when they aren’t working.
A quantum leap from doing anything dumb like watching TV or snacking away at a bar, these new breed of business fanatics have just started a trend which is a long way from catching up with the popularity charts.
Mostly techies who meet up while trekking somewhere away in the hills, river rafting, doing nothing or at the canteen, in buses and in bus stops and god knows where. Basically the whole idea of taking up entrepreneurship so casually while still keeping your day job is an amazing idea since it gives you a feel of how it might be to run a business and get a first hand feel of the intricacies involved in business operations.
While it can range from anything from simply moonlighting in an area of your expertise to a full-fledged business which you still manage to operate on a part-time basis, it is certainly hard work and might demand a lot of focus, time management and resilience. It is not every one’s cup of tea to be able to cope up with ultra-high stress levels that come with both the vocations and for some it might not be a viable option.
However, just as kids get to learn a bike before getting on to a mo-bike, doing a part time business while still keeping your day-job is the best thing you could do since it provides the security and the sense of having a career that comes with the day job and still taste the bitter- sweetness of entrepreneurship.
