Most start-ups have a problem. They think they are small and hence they are, like someone said, ‘You are what you think you are’. There are live examples to prove that it is really not about how big or small your business is and hence, Huge multi-storeyed buildings, with modern infrastructure is not what is important, but how an organization thinks and behaves.

If the Wipro, Infosys and Mind tree Consulting have thought about their businesses this way, we just wouldn’t have them today. Going abroad, Dell, Microsoft and Virgin Group are all a case in point.

Just like a little boy who starts aping his dad and tries the shaving foam on or the little girl who wears her mom’s make-up, small companies must just start believing that have grown big. They have to believe that they don’t have to be grown up to be doing what the grown-ups do.

Think big and get there happens to be the mantra. If everything else was equal, it is just how an organization responds to itself, the economic scenario, its employees, its customers and also gives a thought to its process, as if it were a huge multi-billion dollar conglomerate, would etch its future in stone.

An entrepreneur has to think about how to make his company sound and look as big as the big ones. He really can’t think of anything else but to succeed not with the size of his company but with the limited resources, his competency and his sheer cockiness that comes with the entrepreneur himself. It is the very definition of an entrepreneur and it is what he is meant to do.

Debunk the Size. Espouse Success, Whatever it might take.
